Sunglasses Q&A

Are Some Ray-Ban Sunglasses Made in China?

Being one of the largest online retailers, we come across this question many times from consumers. Because some Ray-Ban sunglasses are currently manufactured in China, it DOES NOT mean they are not authentic sunglasses.

Granted, if you buy a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses on eBay, let’s say, and they cost you $29.99, I would venture to say without hesitation, YES, they are not real authentic Ray-Ban sunglasses. However, if you pay a few dollars under retail, they are real.

Ray-Ban has started to manufacture certain styles, or certain colors in certain styles in China. While consumers may be concerned with product quality, you can rest assure that the manufacturing company will never diminish the quality of its sunglass brand.

They state, “Certain metal frame parts are produced in the Cencenighe plant. The Lauriano facility also makes crystal and polycarbonate lenses for sunglasses.
The Dongguan plants, in China’s Guangdong province, make both plastic and metal frames
.”

We came across a nice little guide on eBay regarding fake Ray-Ban sunglasses you may want to take a look at. It is located here: http://reviews.ebay.com/Identifying-Fake-Raybans-on-eBay_W0QQugidZ10000000001827218

It is important to note that some (or many) selling fake Ray-Ban on eBay will manufacture the frame stating they are made in Italy on the inside of the temple. That can also be very misleading. It’s important to ask and communicate with the retailer regarding the authenticity of the item. Again, some Ray-Bans are made in China.
